And to any of my followers, thank you for joining me on

Systems that I currently own can be seen on the left and my "wish list" of systems are on the right.
As I find consoles and purchase them, the list will be altered accordingly.

The Voyage

Over the past few years I have been a proud owner of a Playstation 3.  I love my Playstation 3, as well as all of the incredible games that it has allowed me to enjoy.  As new games come out, I often find myself trading in my older games in order to get the newer ones at a discounted price.  In doing so, I have traded away some very good games that I now wish I had back.  Games such as Fallout 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, and many other titles as well.  When I sit and think about all of the games, and systems, that I have traded away, it hurts a little.  Knowing that I could own a pretty vast and extensive collection of good, if not great games and systems has made me want to redeem myself.  So I plan on starting a journey, or a voyage, you could say.

This blog will follow me as I search through garage sales, flea markets as well as other places to find systems and games that I have once owned, or have always wanted to own.   Key consoles that I am looking for are Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Sega Genesis, Dreamcast, and possibly an old Atari.  The list of games I would want for each console are more than I can list.  The sad part about wanting to do this, is if I had kept things, all I would have needed from that list would be a Super Nintendo, and an Atari.  I have at one point or another in my life owned all of the other systems on that list.  It's really quite upsetting to think about all of the fun, retro games I could be playing had I just kept my stuff.

Some people are thinking how easy this might be to accomplish.  Surely I could find some mom and pop used video game store to pick up some of the older consoles.  To me that would be too easy, and I want this to be something fun and challenging.  That's why I am only going to look for consoles and games at garage sales, flea markets, swap meets, or antique/consignment stores.  The idea of finding an older console in one of those settings to me, is like finding a lost treasure, and will undoubtedly be beyond exciting when it happens.

And so the voyage begins.  Blog post will be updates as I visit and shop in different spots for older games and consoles.  I hope you ll stay tuned and follow me on this unique journey as dive into gaming's glorious past.
